Boy, talk about ignorance - as if a microcontroller and the embedded software can be related to the type of bus that is used. The Trionic does so much more than just detecting knock - how can you compare it with BMW?!!! If you're so unhappy with the prices being charged for reprogramming, then figure out how to do it yourself and start your own tuning company. Wait a minute: you say you don't have a dyno, nor a HP E1415, nor a HP-VEE to do the mappings? Gee, what do you think you'll have to spend for those? Stop whining because there are tuners who are more knowledgeable than you, and have proven it in practice - they've delivered well-engineered products and those of us who have used them are thankful for it.
