Having spent 15+ years in the automobile business in new car dealerships I 
feel the need to add a few points. First off all this compassion for the 
'poor dealer'  who's spending all this money just to get by is misplaced, 
there are no starving car dealerships. Most dealerships today are owned by 
large corporations that own many dealerships in many states, the mom and pop 
car dealer is a thing of the past. Another point is with the advent of 
consumerisim everyone wants to buy their new car at 'invoice' or below, they 
shop the internet to find out the dealers cost and then go about beating up 
the dealer to get the price down. Now we have 0% financing too. So if the 
dealer can't make any money on the car or the loan what's left? The service 
department and the used car department and that's where the dealer has to 
make enough profit to cover everything else. If the public ever figuers out 
how to beat the dealer out of that money we'll have a real problem! Just my 2 
cents.
