Toyota and Honda lead the Japanese car pack for reliability. Nissan and some of the others are mid-pack when it comes to reliability. A number of North American brands have surpassed all but the best Japanese brands when it comes to reliability rankings in the past year or two.
As for the SAAB, the 2005 is the third model year for the vehicle. As with any completely new vehicle platform launch, some of the 2003's and 2004's had some teething problems. Initial reports from 2005 owners are that they appear to be much better in terms of reliability.
