I was cruising on the interstate at about 78MPH headed to the beach with the sunroof open and A/C off. I reset the SID and was getting OVER 30MPG until I had to turn on the A/C for comfort at which point it dropped to around 28MPG. This was when the car had about 5K miles on it. Even today (30K) if I go on a decently long interstate trip and reset the computer I'll get between 28-29MPG. During my normal workweek driving patterns I get anywhere from 19-22MPG depending how I flog the engine and how much of it is done on the interstate - I have multiple routes I can take to and from work to avoid the worst traffic.
I can't explain it. I assume you use premium gas and Techron concentrate every now and then? I use nothing but Chevron Premium (93 octane in Atlanta). I enjoy the car but don't drive it like I stole it all the time.
