Hello, all....Well....I drove the new 9-3SS again today and I absolutely LOVED it this time....Maybe it was the trim level, I am not sure...Anyway...I test drove the BASE 6-speed and the BASE Linear with Launch package and upgraded wheels....

When it is time to buy one, I will be getting the 6-speed manual, although the 5 speed automatic was kind of neat with the sentronic switching...

The Launch package made the car...It had parchment leather interior that I LOVED! It is closer to white than my Sand Beige in my 98 900SE, and it has more texture than the current Saabs leather..It has a " chalky " feel to it, which I am sure will smooth out once owned for a while..It also looked quite nice contrasted with the dark grey dash and door trim..

The buttons and the plastic I thought were just fine...175 hp is NOT enough for me, although once I was crusing at highway speed, it was quite easy to increase to 90 mph or so...

That nice turbo feel seems to be missing...The old turbos , once they kicked in, kind of pressed you into your seat...That is gone, but I am sure the Vector with its 210 hp will be just fine...

The foot rest is different, so now I have PLENTY of left leg room...YA!!!!

Anyway, the list price for this one with the launch package was $ 33,000, and the base 6-speed was $ 26,000. I think the Vector with everything that I want on it, Touring package, etc, may top out in the mid to upper 30's.

But, I will have to wait until January for those....But maybe, at these proces, a 9-5 Aero may be a better bargain....??and gives me a bit more room...

John
