- The other car was a current model Mercedes C240.
- I understand that how modern cars are designed for safety. I was disappointed on how easy it was to crumple even in the low impact accident. The estimate came in at $4,250 for such a low impact crash whereas the Mercedes probably needs only some touch up and buffing to the bumper. Again like Ron H. has mentioned, it may not be appropriate compare the Saab's damage to the Merc's since it wasn't a bumper to bumper collision but everyone who was at the scene was surprised how the Merc had hardly a scratch at all whereas my Saab needed a towed truck.
I'm a loyal Saab fan. The 9-3 is my 4th Saab and I also own a 02 9-5 Aero. The accident might not be a true test on how safety Saab was but the magnitude of the damage really bothers me. However, even more suprise is the tone of some of the replies I get from here. I guess some of Saab owners are so touchy that I can't question anything about Saab.
And thanks everyone who expressed concerns about my wife. She is ok.
