Chad,
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I purchased an '03 2.0T in October '03 and had nothing but problems with it as I have complained about many times on this board. It seemed like I drove loaners for half the life of the car. This was after I traded in my '99 9-3SE which had accumulated close to 200K on it with very few problems, an excellent car.
Luckily for me, and my wife and kids, my '03 9-3 was totalled in May when my wife was rear ended by an F150 and shoved into/under a Ford explorer that was stopped in front of her. Thank God she was in a Saab. Everyone was OK and I got rid of a headache for more money (Insurance-State Farm) than I could have ever sold it for.
Believe it or not. I bought another SAAB. This time a '06 black 9-3 Aero. I looked at all brands (especially MB) but just couldn't find anything that gave me the looks, performance, and value as much as a Saab. I've got over 7K miles on the car now and it has been as trouble free as the '99. Not only that, but this car is incredible to drive and has reenergized my enthusiam for SAABs. I even plan on chiping it with a PPC. Can't wait to see how it performs then.
Let us know how your search goes. I'll be interested to hear your opinion on what else is available out there. I found the search to be dissapointing/depressing which eventually brought me back to my SAAB dealer.
