Got a letter dated February 2010 telling Saab 9-3 2003 - 2006 owners their car had a potential problem with the suspension springs breaking. 3rd paragraph...DO NOT TAKE CAR TO DEALER. YEAH...JUST WAIT UNTIL IT BREAKS! When it does break which mine did May 18, 2010. Had to have it towed to the West County Saab Dealer in Manchester, MO. The car was towed on a flat bed tow truck. Two days later was called with the diagnosis of spring issue...and by the way you have an oil leak from a whole in the oil pan. That was not a problem prior to having the car towed. With the car lowered by 4 inches when the spring broke, the oil pan was damaged most likely being cabled up the flat bed tow truck. Does my personal safety mean anything to SAAB? Obviously not. These additional damages have resulted in a $1055 repair bill for me the SAAB 2004 9-3 owner.
