All depending on how they did the work, how they used the special tools and how experienced the mechanic is doing the job, they might have ended up with a balance chain tensioner arm that moved one click on the tensioner when the pump was out and ended up with an overtightened balance chain.
It is many stories like that after water pump replacement.
So you need to check with the shop and hopefully they are aware of the possibility of what could have happened. They would need to remove the timing cover to reset balance chain tensioner.
