Perhaps i should be more specific because:
1. the 4cylinder engine (B207) uses the camshaft driven vacuum pump. located on the upper engine area just behind the power steering pump. When viewing from the front of the engine compartment: See the small black fluid reservoir in the center? That's the power steering fluid reserve. Behind that is the p/s pump. Behind that should be the brake vacuum booster pump. should have a hard plastic hose-line coming out of it. If you (carefully!!) remove the line and view inside there may be small traces of oil. if excessive oil comes dripping out chances are the pump has failed. They also like to leak oil externally at the mounting flange (more common than pump failure)
2. the 6cylinder enigne (B284) uses and electronic vacuum pump. located in forward of the right front wheel-well area behind the front fender/bumper cover. I have not heard of these commonly failing, but it is entirety possible for several different things to go wrong as well.
