1) You don't need to be in EU mode on the BCM to disable DRLs. You just need to choose "Rest of World" or ROW setting in lighting options. At least, that worked for me about 4 years ago (I didn't change anything with the BCM at that time).
2) Yes, this is how it works (supposedly) over in the European markets. However, I didn't have the patience to play around with just that setting. I was pretty fed up at that point and just removed everything. Maybe I'll try it someday. It would definitely be more ideal than no sensors at all. I myself would rather get alerts to low pressure in the winter months than the summer, when the pressure is relatively constant due to ambient air temperature. I suppose it depends on your climate and preference.
