Indy shop with persistent upselling problem

Here in south central NY, we lost the Saab dealer when Matthews decided that it was not worth the trouble to service all of the cars they and Forno sold for decades.
So, we have to drive a long way. One Indy shop, which services a wide range of European cars, about 65 miles to my north sounded like an option. I needed a replacement key wedded to my 9-3 SC, so I gave them a try. They did the job OK. So, we have three serviceable keys again.
The trouble is their upselling attempts for needless crap. It's like eating dinner in a restaurant where the help get rewarded for upselling you special drinks, appetizers and the like.
They insisted that my every 5K miles oil change regime was not good enough. Would I please come back for an oil change flush, with MOA additive, for only $167. And, all 9-3s experience a bad power steering pump seal. Would I come back for replacement of the seal at only $157.
I doubt I shall ever be back. I get periodic post cards and letters from them now, always with the same sell. I'll be a "preferred" customer if I just do these services items. I just do not trust them.
An older neighbor on the block has an absolutely pristine 1998 Mercedes E Series sedan. Nearly $50K when new. His experience was the same. Go in for routine service to the indy, and then have them always find something else to add to the bill. So, he now drives 120 miles to the Rochester M-B dealer, gets routine service with no BS. So, now I have to find that for my 9-3. No one around Elmira has a Tech-2, so I may be going to Rochester or Buffalo. Yechhh.
