The old drain is of the type that you loosen a few turns and it starts to flow and then you tighten it up again.
The glued bolt though is another story and it is really tough to remove from the housing.
I only did it on my wife's 07 and stuck a left over drain type one in there but I haven't done it on another car since it felt that maybe the threads were going to strip when I removed the bolt.
I think it was straight threads and not tapered so a copper washer should work if someone removes the bolt.
