Look at turbo boost bypass valve Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Sun, 17 Nov 2013 08:13:17 In Reply to: Boost control valve, chrisk, Sat, 16 Nov 2013 07:47:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It is separate from turbo boost control wastegate as you know but mounted on the turbo housing as well.
Saab calls it Charge Air Bypass Valve.
Remove the top vacuum hose from turbo boost bypass solenoid next to throttle body and suck on the hose. If you can't build up vacuum, the diaphragm is broken and that can set off the code and bring system down to base boost.
The weird thing is that it doesn't happen on all of them but I had an 03 linear not long ago where replacing the innards inside the bypass valve cured the code and problem.
It is some fenudling and trickiness to get the new diaphragm and spring in there and get the cover back in place without messing things up so its not dirt simple.
And the part is quite expensive for what you get. p/n 55558271 $341.88
Checking and updating the software in Trionic would also be a good idea to do at the same time unless it has been done earlier.
