Same problem but ours is temperature dependent Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 5 Apr 2014 05:14:48 In Reply to: Front suspension thunk- not the sway bar ends, Keith [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 4 Apr 2014 09:02:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We have an '06 Sport Combi with a mild klunking sound from the front end when hitting even expansion strips. My wife drives the car mostly and has gotten used to the sound or doesn't know the sound shouldn't be there. I have noticed the noise is louder and/or more easily aggravated on the coldest winter days.
We had the springs replaced under warranty two years ago and this sound is much much quieter than the broken spring noise.
I have a new set of Lemfoerder sway bar links in the garage that I tried to install last weekend only to discover my old jack was low on fluid. So now I have an 8 oz bottle of jack oil to fix the jack.
