One or two years of the 2.0T engine have been plagued by weak valve springs and/or defective valves. An expensive repair if it happens to you.
The V6 engine is proving slightly problematic (GM/Saab never did develop a coolant recovery bottle that would survive) and maintenance is very costly simply due to no space in the engine compartment. GenuineSaab makes a Stainless Steel coolant recovery bottle, but SS is opaque and you can't see the coolant level.
Warranty. GM only warranties Saab up to the mid-point of the 2009 Model year (IIRC). Saab is bankrupt, so a later model year low mileage vehicle will have no manufacturer's warranty. This can be solved with an aftermarket warranty but at added cost.
