At this point anyone who buys a SAAB is a little crazy. In essence you are buying a car that will be a bit tricky getting parts for (as the years go by) Many mechanic/shops in my neck of the woods are true vampires when it comes to working on them ($$$). Combi's are very versatile vehicles and have a very unique look. The interior is a bit thin, seats are good and I think the 6 is the better engine considering it isn't some butchered Swedish modification of a chevy cobalt engine that everyone loved until they started hitting 100k and all hell breaks loose .The sheet metal is very good and thick! Paint colors are total GM ugly (except black) All in all, you shouldn't pay more than 6 or 7K for a comb or any 03 and up SAAB. The 07 has a less aggressive front (if that makes any sense) .
In sum, YES! you are Crazy! but I have never met a sane SAAB driver. Look at some of these posts! People debate and hem and haw over some of the most trivial stuff i.e. brand of light bulbs, brand of oil to lubricate a hinge....
