Too light weight for use on front struts. An easy way to fracture a jaw or lose an eye by trying one of these for strut spring compression.
See link for the MINIMUM device which might do the job - and a few people have found these tools to be good for only one job. Check with local Auto Parts suppliers who may rent the tool at an affordable price, and check if a local suspension shop or garage will replace the springs for you at a reasonable cost if you deliver the struts to them already out of the car.
Some replacement struts come with the springs already installed. These will just need to be bolted into the car.
