I have an '04 9-3 Arc convertible. The control cable for the soft top storage drive is broken and the part is on backorder with no anticipated availability.
The control cable has at one end a spring-loaded plunger. When dropping/raising the soft top, the cable operates the plunger to engage a mechanical linkage to lower/lift the storage bottom panel. My plunger is broken, so the storage is permanently lowered. The control module sees this as an error and does not operate the soft top.
Does anyone have a suggested work-around, or idea on how to repair the plunger?
