Mine's an '06 93-SC 2.0T owned since new with 157k miles. The car died about 2 weeks ago; I figured it was the pump so I tapped the bottom of the tank with the lug wrench to get going and it fired right up. I drove it for another week without further incident waiting for the pump assembly and new tank straps to arrive. Call me foolish but I got lucky I guess. My fuel gage had never given me any problems so I think failures are hard to predict. I've always used discount premium gas; Speedway, Hess, and others.
I always fill the tank and generally run it down at least until the low-fuel light comes on so my sender does use most of its full travel if that makes any difference?
