Hey guys- strange one here but someone has probably already experienced this during the run of the 9-3 SS models. '03 9-3 Arc here, leased new, bought out at lease end, only 37,300 miles on it. Of course it is over 20 years old now so odd things can occur. A little more background- it was garage-kept until 2015 when a classic car purchase took its garage bay. I have worked from home since around 2012 and that is the main reason for the very low mileage. I keep track of when I start the car, and I shoot for once every seven days. Sometimes I'll run over by a day or two but it will typically still start. It would not surprise me if the car has always had some sort of phantom electrical draw, but it was never a factor when the car was driven daily.
Something odd I have noticed however is that during the seven days of sitting in the driveway, sometimes the front passenger side door lock will pop up on its own. Thinking little or nothing of it, I'll just push the lock down and close the door. Last week this occurred three times over the course of seven days, and then when I went to start the car it was completely lights out, battery dead. Put it on my Battery Tender in the garage and the battery is charged again (a slow charger, not a monster). I'm aware that if this occurs too often that the battery's reserve is far lower. Anyway, now I have left the front passenger side door lock in the up position and I will start the car later and run it up to temp. The car is parked in by other vehicles in the driveway and it won't be an issue to leave that door unlocked for the time being. I don't need to perform immediate troubleshooting since the car is not driven regularly. It is beginning to get a little warmer in the northeast US however so I'll soon be able to spend a little more time looking into it.
