New guy questions....

Hello all,
I have had my new Red 9-5 2.3lpt 5-spd for a little over a month now and am enjoying it very much. Really nice car, drives great, could use a little more low-end torque for typical American driving but there is something really fun about the turbo boost. After looking through a bunch of posts reagrding areas I had questions about I want to make a few ask/re-ask a few questions.
1. Can anyone explain the more technical reason (if one truly exists) why the 2001 can not be fitted with the MY2000 2.3 ECU upgrade? To anyone's knowledge will the upgrade be made available/compatible with the 185hp in the future?
2. Is there anyway to rig the turn signal so the forward back-up light or foglights illuminate while signalling? My foglights do not light-up (when parked or driving) when signalling. When I say foglights I mean the actual foglights, not the 90 degree lights that I know are not on the 2001s.
3. Just how common is the "alignment issue" (pulls right)? Mine pulled left, told the dealer at the 30 day mark, they re-did the alignment and now it pulls right. From other people's experience is it an alignment problem or just how the steering wheel is lined-up?
Sorry for the length, but thanks in advance for any comments.
