1) I do not know the reason why a 2001 cannot be fitted with the saab ecu upgrade. I do know that every Saab source I questioned gave me the same negative reply.
2) When you say "is there a way" the answer is almost always yes. There is no simple option to pick in the tech II that I know of or a wire to connect. But I do imagine that with a relay, some wire and some time you could make it work.
3) The 9-5's have a few alignment issues. They are very sensative to road crown. Re-aligning the car will not reduce the sensitivity. (If you primarily drive on roads crowned one (to the pass side for 2 lane roads) way you could align in a pull in the other direction to cancell it out, but when you drive on roads of opposite crown, (left lane of highway) the car will pull harder) Besides the ensitivity to road crown, the 9-5's are also built using a net build process where the alignment is not adjusted for caster or camber at the factory.
