Orson is correct. The 9-5 can be confused with a Honda by the uninitiated. I have a C900 and a 9-5. My friends who thought the 900 looked ugly love the look of the 9-5 and vice versa. Those who love the 9-5's looks tend to own Japanese cars. OK the 9-5 is a vastly better car than the 900, but the 900 has a classic SAAB look to it.
Call is cool, call it ugly duckling, call it upturned bathtub, but it is the classic SAAB look combined with decent performance. I believe that the C900s will in a few years become collectors items even beyond the SAAB aficionado crowd. The 9-5 is great but will never be a collectors car.
