Honda? These are the same people who think Trans Ams look like Testarossas... or vice versa.
Doesn't it really depend on your time or reference and memory? I mean... car companies that are well over 50 years old have models that change and never stay the same in looks. Taste change and technology marches on. Aerodynamics and packaging changed the auto industry quite a bit trough the 50's and 60's.
I think it relates to what you CAN distantly remember as a Saab. All I can relate to is those 80's coupes with the vertical windshields and ski-slope hatch. But I know their first couple of models were far from having any similar details to those 80's models.
I guess MY impression of a Saab is that it is a design which does not follow automotive convention. A company founded on aircraft manufacturing attempts to build cars and hasn't an ounce of bias on what a car should be... slowly takes of slice out of the industry in the following years.
I just hope they don't come up with whacky, BUT useless designs just to be different. I think I'm blabbering, so I'll stop now.
