What great amusing response. I would agree with it. Buying a new Malibu is not going to save you money over keeping a well kept, low miles 99 saab 9-5. I know being 'naked' without a warranty is daunting, and this board is a scary place for the uninitiated, it seems full of problems...but 9-5s are actually quite reliable, and the weak spots are not too expensive ($400 for a TB, $300 for a DIC, $400 for a SID if you care) certainly compared to that huge hit of depreciation on a new car.
I dont think a Malibu or G6 is going to be anything like as satisfying, I know I'd keep the saab over those 2 choices. However if you want to swap $15k and your 99 for some peace of mind, a CPO 9-3 or 9-5 is a better bet than these two brand new 'ordinary' cars.
