I discovered that, too, but that was my fault...I had done an NG900 pump before, so I though it wouldn't be bad...I even had the 9-5 WIS printout but stubbornly didn't look at it before I tore in.

Yes, the intake hard pipe must come off and there's that annoying tiny line to deal with. Two hours of cussing before I looked at the printout and really let it fly. About three more after that.

I posted back when I did it a couple years ago, with the xtra steps as an 'addendum' to the ng900 instructions, since the only difference is 4 (really important) extra steps for the 9-5. It is DIYable if you know about those steps, otherwise you feel ambushed.

I might go after it on my other 9-5 if I have nothing to do that day but in general, I'm considering it a good investment in labor at an indie.
