As it's a bit on the slow side. There is however plenty of safe options for making it faster, just by upgrading the engine software (ECU). I've been told that the 2.0 is smoother running than the 2.3...
'96 9000CS 2.0LPT(150hp) with upgraded ECU, 210-220 hp.
