talk about their own cars. I remember seeing one a few months ago, and there was not a "Top Ten" car in the lot. These guys drive the same stuff as you and me and for the same reasons. Classic sporty cars (but not restored), pick-ups, vans, station wagons, family cars.
Granted most of the reviewers don't make great salaries, and no one 'gives' them a car to drive as their own. So when they finally admit that they drive an 1988 BMW 5-series, or a Dodge Durango, or drive a minivan and have an old MG in the garage, you see how worthless the "Top Ten" list is anyway. Sure they get to drive nice new cars for a couple weeks or so, then write about how great/bad it was. It is not like they get to spend a year with each car and really understand the benefits and nagging faults, or pay the repair and maintenance bills. But in the end they have to make the same real world trade-offs for their own vehicles that you and I do, namely price, maintenance, insurance, and utility.
