Filler cap dip stick? Posted by Jon [Email] (#11) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jon) on Tue, 11 Dec 2001 08:42:38 In Reply to: Re: top-side oil changer, Jim, Mon, 10 Dec 2001 11:18:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This will probably prove that I've never popped the hood on a 4 cyl, but on my V6, there is an oil dip stick in front of the engine on the left and the tranny dip stick beside the engine on the right (near the battery case).
I do not have a dip stick on the filler cap, which is why I did not understand your initial question.
Do you have a 4 cyl?
FWIW, I run AMSOIL 0W-30 in my SE and change the oil once a year, with a filter change at 6 months. Been doing this routine for many years in lots of cars and have had good experience so far.
This also means that I don't have to take it to a shop for changes, nor are they done so often that it is any bother for me to do myself.
