NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH! Is there any advice for the do-it-yourselfer as to how to get this thing changed out without too much more trouble and waiting if you are more than just an ok mechanic but just don't have any experience with SAABs? I bought this thing because I had heard so many good things about this company. My 2000 9-5 2.3 turbo would really rock but it seems as if I have bought the one that has all the gremlins. I am so lucky that I paid top dollar for an extended warranty (just on a hunch that is) but I feel so bad that after seeing the posts on this site....mine has had ALL of the problems. Believe me after seeing what the ABS/TCS module cost alone from the dealer, and having that repair done the warranty has more than paid for itself. Not to mention the heater problem that I had like one of the posts I have seen where one side doesn't blow hot. Mine had that problem too (seems as though the entire dash had to be removed to fix that one- or so they said). So now out of 3 mo.s of owning the car half of the time has been devoted to sitting at the dealership service shop and well over half again the price I paid for the car spent by the warranty co., I wopuld like to save SOME time and try to solve this one myself. I do after all still believe that when all is said and done I will have a great car. Yes the problem is an intermittant failure to crank with nothing happening when I turn the key. No the starter cable is not loose. I believe it is the NSS. I only don't know where it is and how to go about changing it. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. I have years of experience working on cars, even foreign ones( I rebuilt my first carb. on a Datsun B-210 without knowing anything prior to doing so and getting it right the first time when I was 18). I love to work on these things and I love troubleshooting. Guess I bought the right car huh????? lol lol lol Any ideas guys???? Thanks for your attention and concern!
