Dynamat is a thin, flexible, cut and mold sheet that stops noise causing resonance and vibration. A local car audio shop quoted me a price of $125 per door installed (2000 Aero - Sedan). They declined to get into a floor installation given the complexity of everything that need be removed, the wiring, etc. Allegedly, doors are the major culprit of road noise, followed by the floors. I was told that effective sound deadening in the doors can reduce road noise up to 50%.
Anyway, I'm a bit skeptical but like others, I cannot stand the pronounced road noise in this otherwise phenomenal car. I will try replacing the factory Michelins as everyone has suggested, from there, perhaps I will also try a sound deadener in the doors.
I also am looking for someone with actual experience with a sound deadening product ??? -- as opposed to the accolades from the car audio shop personnel.
