the same base price (with the mandatory auto box) as a base Aero (manual transmission).
So if you want an auto Aero, you pay about $1,200 more and you get the better seats with it too.
The question is then why would anyone want an Arc ? Is it for the ventilated seats or the wood dash ?
Other than the engine and mandatory 5-sp auto on the Arc, there is no reason to get the Arc, unless you really hate the metallic dash in the Aero.
If someone wants to pay about $40K for a car, the price difference of $1,200 is somewhat insignificant over if one keeps the car for a few years.
This is not even a question of reliability, I think someone at Saab wants to kill the V-6 engine gracefully with this pricing strategy.
