UK "Car" magazine unflattering towards 02 9-5 Aero

Recently laid hands on the UK Car magazine (I'm in the States);
sport-wagon comparison starring Lexus IS300 Sportcross, Audi A4
Avant,MG ZT-T (not sold in the US), and the 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero
Wagon.
Regarding 9-5 Aero on page 175:
"A fine car, and post facelift, an improved one. But the
age of the underpinnings is increasingly obvious, and
the Saab seems a full generation removed from our other
contenders. The pliant driving experience makes it the choice
for relaxing progress, and if you want to cover serious mileage
or need big space, the Saab is still worth serious consideration".
Earlier on Page 173:
"In terms of driving the Saab is least worried about the whole
sharp-handling zeitgeist and emerges the better car for it. The
steering has been loosened over the old 9-5 and torque-steer has
been banished in consequence."
IMHO, these are not good things to hear about a car in the 21st
century. The market for floaty wagons is limited; nowadays
sharp-handling and a nimble steering are expected from cars in
this price bracket. What's Saab's story? How long do they expect
to be able to sell cars if this is the perception of their
flagship cruiser?
