1999-2009 [Subscribe to Daily Digest] |
The leather that Hisch fits is Nappa leather
which has a much smoother tuch then the original
SAAB leather. When you will get it, you will notice
the high quality of this leather, which is more
leather furniture quality then car leather quality.
Thus, if you get that leather plus the seat foams
after installation you should use the SAAB leather
treatment twice a year to keep the leather soft
and crack free for the time you own your car.
The vertical seams in the middle of the seat are made
out of a very smooth, thin and soft leather, softer in fact
then the outer part of the seats. This for the reason
you mention, that they don't hurt the back of those
that sit on it. Not to be confused with stuff found
in most cars made out of harsch hard leather.
The seat shape is also far supperior, you will have
better latteral support and more comfort, these are
vastly supperior to the old 1999-2001 SAAB seats.
I am 6'3 and I fit much better in these. Up to now
I have also only received compliments on how good
these seats are. The spine support is maintained
as are the side airbags. You can still adjust the
lower back part of the seat as with the std. seats.
What you need to know is:
a) This upgrade does not allow for ventilated seats, if
you have ventilated seats you can't upgrade these.
b) If you have the non ventilated seats with the
heating option, you will have to order new heating
elements to be fit into the new seat assembly. Hirsch
does supply these.
c) You will need help from a upholstery shop that can work
with your SAAB dealer to properly assemble the seats.
d) You also need to inform Hirsch if you have electric or
regular seats. (in the US all should be electric)
I have ZERO regrets to have spend the money I did on
the Hirsch Nappa Leather Interior, it's just great.
Never have any backpain and support is good.
To help you I added in the next message a TEXT in german
to send to Hirsch to Mr. Stadler who works there. Copy/paste
it in an Email to Hirsch, just add that you wish an answer
in English. If possible try to talk to Mr. Willy from Chur (KUR)
Mr. Willy is a great guy, car freak that has been with SAAB
dealerships for ever.
Should they ask for prepayment, I would not worry about this
as they are after all the largest SAAB dealer in Switzerland.

Coolknight
