The 2002 wagon has a very different feel to the 2000 model, mainly through the steering which is not as light as before and seems more direct with quite a bit more feedback. Still sways a bit on the back roads and not a patch on the 5 Series for overall handling but getting better all the time. Power increase is noticeable, perhaps for me because this is my first auto and a pleasant surprise both in power and smoothness. It just seems to change at exactly the right time all the time, and as for the sport mode--well who needs a manual tranny any more? My only real complaint has been dealer incompetence. I had more than my fair share of problems on my 2000 model but I also had a grossly incompetent dealer, and that in itself is an experience I don't want to repeat. But if you have sound dealership backup, you'll be very pleased indeed with your new vehicle. No, you'll be ecstatic!
Best regards,
Jonah
