Gary: Regarding the windshield, I live in southern NH, and comp does not cover glass in NH unless you pay for it as a separate item.
Do you have apart number for the anco blades that fit right in? I seem to recall that the drivers side blade on a 9-5 is 22.5 inches, which is not a standard size. Would appreciate if you can give me the refill or replacement blade info.
Regarding the warranty of a rubber part, and some possible damages that are beyond Saab's control. It is very easy( and this has happened to me several times),for a rubber blade to be frozen to a windshield in an ice storm. When you then fire up the wipers, the blade can easilly tear.I can honestly see the manufacturers point that this is neither a manufacturing defect, nor a failure that the manufacturer should be responsible for.
I think the more inmportant issue might be that if a low cost insert were available, chances are for a couple of bucks the dealer would have replaced tham for you, and it would have been good PR,even if they thought it was not a manufacturing defect.
Not surprised at your opinion of 128. If you are looking for a good dealer, depending on your route of travel from Cape Anne,Gary Blake in Exeter is pretty good, and Village in Acton is as well. Both have Saab loaners,Village has the most of any dealer in the area. If you prefer an independent, and travel to the Merrimac Valley area,MVSC in Methuen is highly recommended.
Thanks for the info on the wiper blade refill.
Lou
