Ron H says:
"There are many fine H rated tires-carmakers like Volvo, M-B, Audi and BMW are fitting them to their cars (governed to 130mph, like the S60, C, E series, 3 and 5 series, and A4/A6 series) for those owners who care more about treadlife and cheaper tire replacenent costs than ultimate traction."
I think that this is a great argument for buying H-rated tires.
The fact that these high-performance autos are shod in high-quality H-rated tires says to me that H-rated tires can be an excellent choice.
To imply that the majority of these customers of these cars care about treadlife and cheaper tire replacement more than ultimate traction is a little ridiculous.
I think that the performance characteristics of these cars match the performance characteristics of their tires. Aside from the top speed issue, which I think is relatively unimportant in this argument, SAABs do not exceed the above autos to the degree that the H vs. Z rated argument seems to imply. Many would counter that the BMW 3/5 series and Audi 4 series are more performance oriented than the SAAB 9-5...
