I have been wanting to mount a proper boost gage in my 2001 Aero Wagon. I really don't like the idea of hanging a gage in a pod - I think they look a little tacky. Why couldn't Saab have just written some numbers on the factory gage?
Anyway, I have been considering trying to mount a Dakota Digital rectangular gage in the lower a/c vent opening on the left side of the dash, next to the window. I believe it would fit. You would have to manufacture a blank mounting plate to fit the opening, and cut a proper hole for the gage. If it were my project I would paint the brushed aluminum face of the gage matt black.
Try it and see if it works - then post a report so I can do it!
