Thank you Ron, Gary, and Todd for your replies.
I decided to go for Nokian NRV summer tires now. I'll post impressions after I have had them a few weeks. Next winter, I'll go for winter tires -- Hakkas which I have not tried, (but given all the highway driving I do, without the "Hakkas with full tungsten spikes" approach popular where I live in Maine), or Blizzaks or Arctic Alpins (both of which I have used on my 9000. IMHO the Blizzaks give better grip and are quieter...but their chewing gum compound makes the ride and handling goofy --especially when they are new -- so between those two I probably would go with the Michelins.) While Nokian is a niche player, the reviews I could find were favorable. My local tire dealer warned me that they may not wear as long as the MXVs -- probably closer to the P6000s. (No doubt one reason the Michelins last longer is their "auto-hydorplaning" tread design that lifts the tire off wear inducing road surfaces. <g>)
