Lots Worse - Saab Averarge Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Sat, 16 Mar 2002 13:09:18 In Reply to: Of course they do!, Hammer, Fri, 15 Mar 2002 21:51:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Big new car incentives and low rate deals make staggering new car depreciation on all makes, many of which are worse than Saab, luxury domestics are one example. Slightly lower depreciation is always coupled with even higher new prices and even price premiums. Over sticker cars like a PT Cruiser will have great resale. Does that mean that a $40k BMW depreciates less than a $30k Saab in real dollars? I don't think so. If the expensive german car does 25% better than the Saab, say 40% in 3 years vs. the Saab at 50%, that's $1,000 less for the Saab. Add that to the much bigger discount gotten on the Saab when purchasing it.
