yes you should .... Posted by bobc [Email] (#473) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bobc) on Mon, 10 Aug 2009 17:32:48 In Reply to: Tranny Flush pros and cons, Steve, Mon, 10 Aug 2009 15:28:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
... change it ... in any matter you feel comfortable with.
But *do* change it. The fluid is subjected to heat and shearing stress. it degrades, you need to change it. just like with engine oil, you change it while it is still functioning properly ... waiting until the oil is cooked and useless is waiting too late.
from what you say, it sounds like your trans fluid is still in good shape. now is the perfect time to flush your tranny.
one right, the flush machine is the best way to clean your transmission. that said: I am a DIY'er so I do the drain-fill-drive-repeat method. i use mobile 1 full synthetic tran fluid. if i had a flush machine I would do that, but I dont.
If you choose flush machine:
- dealer - very expensive
- indy - sounds reasonable but does he use a machine or the drain-refil method?
- midas, walmart, etc - no. dont let the 16 old working for minimum wage do this. get it done right.
oh and use the correct fluid!
