Thanks SwedeCar, Leo and John Myers. I did take the transmission down again. It was not as tough the second time. I used a drop chain attached to the long bolt on the trans mount. That kept the tranny from falling off my floor jack. Found no real issue other than the new T/Q seal was crushed out of shape. I was afraid I had broke the two input lugs that are inside the pump that connect to the torque converter. But I think I have a problem with a part I cannot identify. It is the metal spacer sleeve that fits around the torque converter shaft. It seems that this seal should fit down inside the pump. This would allow the T/Q seal to have both an outside diameter and inside diameter seating surface. I can not find this "sleeve" in the WIS nor EIC! This sleeve looks like a spring (there is a split in it) sleeve I have encountered in marine applications. It is cooper coated on the inside with a noticable worn witness mark on the center of its circumference.I tried to fit this sleeve down into the opening of the pump but no luck. Perhaps it needs to be "cold" shunk to fit. I am again perplexed. Thanks for all that replied. Jeff Levi
