Bear in mind that the t-belt that is in there, and the pulleys, are all about 9 years old. While they are "rated" for 60k miles, that's with a much faster rate of putting miles on the car. So, for this particular car, it's not really "early"...
Personally, if I were buying another V6 today, if it had not had the t-belt done yet, I would do it, regardless of miles. I'd also have it done if the belt had been changed, but was past 30k on it, or done over 3 years ago.
My first V6, a 2002 Arc, had no evidence of the belt having been done at all after 6 years and over 80k miles. My second, a 2000 SE had the belt done under warranty, but no proof that anything else was done at the 60k point, so, as a preventive measure, I had the belt, pulleys & WP done at 97k.
Yes, it's costly, but the peace of mind you'll have knowing it's good for the next 60k miles is priceless. If the belt breaks, you are in for a whopper of a repair bill, over $5,000 at an indie, and probably more at a dealer.
