ACC code 8 Posted by saabsince 93b [Email] (#972) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabsince 93b) on Mon, 13 Feb 2012 21:17:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Now that I have my pressure sensor in the A/C system reconnected and the system working well, I have gotten rid of my code 22, but still have code 8 remaining. I also occasionally get a code 13, but I reset them both with my Op-Com software and only the code 8 comes back.
Code 8 is the driver side blend door code, and according to Taliafero code 8 is a broken shaft. I just found this on the .pdf on their site about installation of their blend door flap repair part. I was going to order the arm only, but it sounds like I need the arm and shaft type part.
I have a couple of questions. One is the air and heat seem to be working OK in spite of this error code. Maybe the cold air is not as cold as it should be. Any comments on this?
Other thing is that I took the lower panel out this weekend and getting in there is pretty tough. Looks like you need a very tiny person upside down inserted in the footwell area. I would love some comments from anyone who has done this repair. taliafero says take out the air distribution tube before the stepper motor. What is this tube, and does it help with getting in there better?
I would just like some input from people who have done this job. I have searched this site and looked a Platanoff and I am still not clear how to do it.
Thanks
