A/C Bypass with Short-Short Belt

Hi All,
While my A/C works, the compressor is making several different sets of horrible and ominous noises.
I really don't have the DIY time with the holidays in play, nor the money to foot a 'pro' bill, so I bypassed the compressor with a shorter 'short' belt. I won't be needing it for a few months here in New Jersey. Apologies if this old news, although I wasn't able to find much info here on it so I figured I'd share:
It was possible to get a 9-5 without A/C outside the US. So it had to work. I found a single post here mentioning an 1815mm 'short short' belt to delete the A/C -- other places mentioned other sizes, etc. It just skips the loop down to the compressor. You do reduce the contact area on the water pump (but do get back a bunch on the p/s pump).
It's within the tensioner limits at 1815mm, you could probably go down to 1810. I got mine at Amazon for about $15, and obviously it's temporary until I do the compressor in the spring. I just didn't want it to shear off and strand us.
Oddly, when I googled this, I found Autozone's online repair guides actually all show the 4-cyl diagrams with non-A/C routing.
