thx for your response pme
So if I jiggle the key up the right way, the cylinder will come up and the door chime will stop. If I get it wrong, I know because the door chimes and I push the key down and up again to get the cylinder to come up.
I know I should fix it, but a new cylinder and coding will be a $500+ investment. The cylinder has been in this state for 3 years when I didn't have a drain. However, I can't rule that out 100% I suppose.
I'm not really sure how to diagnose things when you do know a specific circuit is to blame.
