Built to meet and exceed manufacturers specifications.
Just about every part have that declaration and it means nothing.
But you could also say that the manufacturer themselves were not able to meet their own specs when a part fails when car is still under warranty. lol
The very first generation IDM's on the 90-92 9000 did in fact have replaceable coils (I did it ones) and Saab came out with a bulletin stating that it WAS NOT necessary to replace the whole cassette if only one coil was bad. Most likely this after a lot of dealer mechanics threw a new cassette on the car instead of fiddling with the coils.
This became a pretty moot question when Saab released the next generation IDM in 93 and the coils were embedded in epoxy and the whole cassette had to be replaced.
It's rare that the individual coils fail but more so the intricate electronics inside that lump of epoxy.
