Very Happy to report back that Slow Crank of our 07 9.5 was fixed by starter replacement.
I have had this wagon 5 years and from the beginning I noted slow cranking. over these years it never sounded awry or missed engaging with Flywheel, nor refused to start engine. ra ra ra ra ra ra just slowly. on this a mention of the starter being the cause was mentioned, along with explanation that
a middle bearing ( of 3 ) failed and this lets armature move or drop down a bit, so either brushes do not seat on armature well, or armature iron core windings may be contacting the fixed magnets, causing friction. I will take original Mitsubishi starter apart and report back.
24F last 2 mornings and the starter engine is twice as fast or more! ( NORMAL :) )
