I question your rationale about not wanting to use the EBC pads due to the life/wear on your current OEM rotors. If you need new rotors based on the thickness of the current ones, why not just bite the bullet and put on new rotors and use the EBC pads. The stock SAab OEM pads are part of the reason your rotors are worn down. They are relatively abraisive.I cannot say how long rotors will last on the car with EBC pads,( want to know for myown sake as well), but the EBC is clearly a superior pad as far as the dust issue, and just about everyone who has done this and posted results on the bulletin board( myself included), has reported superior results compared to the stock pads.
I have read these reports of 25-30K mile life spans of rotors, nad personally believe this is about one third of the time a rotor should last, assume you are not riding the brakes or abusing them. I have had exceptionally good brake life on my last two Saabs( both manual trans),and cannot imagine having to replace brakes as early as some like you have reported.
I would just go ahead and use the EBC pads on your brake job, and if the rotors have worn below or near minimum thickness spec, replace them as well.
Good Luck
